GEOL 4950 - International Geology Field Experience


(3) Credit Hours

Students learn about and experience the geologic history of an international location. During the semester, students learn about the geology of the region. At the conclusion of the semester during the summer, the class travels to this region to explore (may include camping and hiking) and become familiar with the geology on a ~10 day field trip. Pre- and post-trip reports are required. Students are responsible for all travel costs including airfare, meals, and other travel costs. Students must have a passport prior to international travel. Spring semesters. Lecture 2 hours and ~10-day field trip. Prerequisites: At least one 3-4 credit course in geology (excluding GEOL 2100) or Department Head approval.
